How many times can you use a single grilling plank?
How thick are these grilling planks?
Have your grilling planks been chemically treated in any way?
Can I grill other things than salmon on grilling planks?
What is a "second" grilling plank?
If the grilling plank is still in good shape after the initial use it may be reused.
Tip: If you cook using the "indirect method" your cedar grilling planks will have the best chance of being reusable. For charcoal grills simply set the coals on one side of the grill and the grilling plank on the other side. Likewise, for gas grills light one side, usually the front, and place the plank on the other (back) side. Grilling planks work great in the oven too.
All of our grilling plank products are 100% natural and free of any chemical treatment.
After thirteen years of testing and production of millions of grilling planks, we've settled on a thickness of about 3/8" (0.35"). This is the "Goldilocks" thickness; not so thick that it wastes time and wood, and not so thin that the grilling planks burn-up before your food is cooked, but "just right".
Absolutely! Pork Chops are my personal favorite, however, let your imagination go wild! You can get a good start by taking a look at our blog. It has ideas from the practical to the fun, and then there are some that are just a little bit crazy. You'll enjoy reading about the successes and experiments of our best bloggers.
It's a completely useable grilling plank that has a defect that keeps it out of our retail packaging. These defects include; rough faces or edges, a small hole, a short split, cupping, misbrands, or mineral stain. Our retail grilling planks are graded to an almost absurdly high standard. Many of the grilling planks we call "seconds" would be in the competitions retail packs.
All of our grilling planks, including "seconds" are 100% natural and free from any chemical additives. I grill on nothing but "seconds". They're a great value!
